Buy and Sell Cisco Network Gear. Install phpMyAdmin 3.3.2 on Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6 server

1. Go to http://www.phpmyadmin.net and download the latest version. I got the phpMyAdmin-3.3.2-english.zip  file.

2. Copy to somewhere you'll remember and unzip it.

Make sure that folder is accessible to your local web server.

3. Browse to that site. ie.  http://localhost/your_folder/phpMyAdmin-3.3.2-english

You'd probably want to change the name of that folder..

4. Log in as root with your password credentials for the first time.

5. First thing you need to do is setup a user account for normal database creation and usage.. You should setup more accounts for appropriate levels of access..

Good to go.  Check out the forums if you need any help.

Note:  You will get the warning:

Cannot load mcrypt extension. Please check your PHP configuration. No biggie, you should have it on ssl anyway.

There is no fix for Snow Leopard as of yet. Apple included php 5.3 but forgot the mcrypt module. They also updated to php5.3.1 on the 10.6.3 update..  Keep looking at http://www.entropy.ch/home/ for a update..  DON'T UPDATE! The forums do say that they're pkg isn't compatible with Snow Leopard..  Lots of other cool stuff to follow there though..

Sorry, I'm a newb.
Does your sentence
"Make sure that folder is accessible to your local web server."
mean:
"Put the phpMyAdmin-3.3.2-english folder within library/WebServer/Sites/" ?

Yep.. or any alias on virtual hosts.

Where ever you've set your server to host sites.

I think its Library/WebServer/Documentation

But I'd have to re-check the initial install.
